Forklift Tires

Like in any vehicle, forklifts have various tires that are used for different situations. Forklifts that are to be used in certain situations are fitted with specialized tires. The more common forklift tires are made from polyurethane, are solid and pneumatic. Every kind of forklift tire has its advantages.

Tires for forklifts can be standard or press-on. Standard forklift tires are fitted on forklifts the same way as car tires can be fitted on cars. These tires can stand most outdoor terrains. Press-on tires are more easily fitted on forklifts than standard tires, but these are made for indoor or electric forklifts, and are not suitable for difficult outdoor terrain. Like heavy duty truck tires, pneumatic tires for forklifts have thick deep threads, filed with air, and made from strong rubber. These tires are made to expand the life of forklifts by cushioning the forklift from the terrain. Forklifts that are used on rougher terrains are usually fitted with pneumatic tires because of their long lifespan and durability. Solid tires are similar to pneumatic tires, with the exception that they are solid, instead of being filled with air. Because of this, they will not flatten or pop. Solid tires can be used indoors or outdoors but are not recommended for extended use in rougher terrain. Forklift tires made from polyurethane are commonly used indoors. This is because they provide just the right amount of resistance and traction that can prolong lifespan. These polyurethane tires are perfect for electric forklifts.

Different tires are made to fit different forklifts in any situation. There are tires that will support use of forklifts indoors or outdoors and rough or concrete terrain.
