Forklift Motors

There are three main types of forklift engines: electric, propane, and deisel.

If your working in a confined space an electric forklift is what you want as they do not produce exhaust.  One trade off is that electric lift trucks generally have a limited lifting power, but generally the spaces they are used in prohibit lifting of excess weight.  Some of the top producers of electric lift trucks are CAT, Mitsubishi, and Hyster.

Propane powered forklifts are the most versatile and popular lift trucks available today, with the ability to operate indoors and outside.  They also provide one of the best power to weight ratios and are easy to refuel.

Diesel Lift trucks are generally reserved for large outdoor equipment.  This is the type of lift truck you would find in larger scale construction or logistics.
